Since the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed to "promote the spirit of science and the spirit of craftsmanship and cultivate great craftsmen with both moral integrity and professional skills", the great craftsmen selected by all walks of life have become role models of the new era's spirit. In response to this, the Graduate Work Department of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University and the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Zhejiang University jointly launched the "Great Nation Craftsmen" Training Camp of Zhejiang University. The aim is to create a comprehensive cultivation platform integrating learning, communication and growth, promote the "craftsman spirit", serve the national strategy, and cultivate outstanding and high-quality Great nation craftsmen with a sense of patriotism and the spirit of craftsmanship.
To more effectively promote the various tasks of the Training Camp for Great Craftsmen and achieve more remarkable results, Zhejiang University, based on the "industry-university-research" system, leverages the strength of enterprises to assist in the cultivation of great craftsmen. For many years, Jiangnan School of Management and Zhejiang University have maintained a harmonious relationship in their cooperation among industry, academia and research, with frequent exchanges of talents and fruitful achievements. For this "Great Nation Craftsmen Training Camp", Zhejiang University has invited outstanding mentors from Jiangnan School of Management - the company's chief engineer, Bao Weijian, and deputy chief engineer, Zheng Dawei - to serve as mentors for the "Great Nation Craftsmen" training camp (a total of 20 mentors in the first batch), setting another example for Jiangnan School of Management to export teaching resources externally.
It is reported that the "Great Nation Craftsmen" training Camp, through course designs such as industry analysis, career development, learning and discussion on the spirit of craftsmanship, leadership improvement, sand table simulation and career planning, comprehensively cultivates workplace skills, the spirit of craftsmanship and the professional spirit of loving one's job. The mentors of the "Great National Craftsmen" training camp will form groups and pairs with the trainees to carry out a one-year exchange and practice. Through methods such as teacher-student symposiums, visits and experiences, and on-site research, they will transform their own experiences and knowledge into the driving force and assistance for the growth and success of Zhejiang University students, convey the spirit of craftsmanship of striving for excellence and cooperative progress, help Zhejiang University students strengthen their ideals and beliefs, and improve their professional qualities Take the initiative to shoulder the responsibility of national rejuvenation and become high-quality innovative engineering talents with a global perspective and core competitiveness.
